We are an initiative that aims to educate the public on health and science related topics as a means of promoting health literacy and making healthcare more accessible. We also hope to show the power of science in advancing and improving healthcare.

Growing up, my parents struggled to understand medical terms. So do millions of people in the United States. Low health literacy is an imperative issue that limits one's ability to make thoughtful health decisions, leading to worsening or delays in health concerns. Having the privilege of access to health education taught me its importance, and I started Pigtastic Health as a way to make resources more accessible through social media as well as to shed light on health problems.
